About me

I am a senior Fine Arts student at the University of Louisville, focusing in 2-D studios with a specialization in Printmaking. In addition to my fine arts major, I am a double major in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and LGBTQ Studies. My art is influenced not only by the courses I take about queer theory and critical thought, but it's also affected by my interests in linguistics, anthropology, and pop culture. I'm passionate about illustration and graphic art, and my inspirations include comics artists such as Alison Bechdel, Neil Gaiman, and Noelle Stevenson, as well as Japanese manga artists such as Junji Ito, Hirohiko Araki, Go Nagai, and Yamamoto Takato. One aim of my art is to unite traditional formal genres of fine arts with ones typically considered more casual; I use established processes of print media to explore contemporary themes such as cannabis culture and intersectional queer identity.
